BGP Routing

Like extensions within a phone system, NAT protects computers that are primarily used within the LAN from being found or contacted by outsiders. NAT also operates without affecting any application that initiates communication with the Internet.

The use of NAT does not affect any applications that initiate communication to the Internet such as: Web browsing, downloading active content, movies, video clips, or sending or receiving e-mail.
